DAY 1: INTRODUCTION TO OFFICE ERGONOMICS

  • Identify and mitigate the postural risks associated with prolonged computer use
  • Learn to properly configure workstations for optimal health, comfort and performance
  • Perform objective research-based evaluations of work tools such as task seating, sit/stand devices, mice, keyboards, task lighting and more

DAY 2: CONDUCTING EFFECTIVE ERGONOMIC ASSESSMENTS

  • Learn advanced techniques for delivering employee education, affecting behavioral change and implementing workstation enhancements
  • Build confidence in your ability to improve employee comfort and reduce risk of injury

About the Instructor

Sara Pazell
Sara Pazell
BAppSci (OT), MBA, PhD, CPE

Sara Pazell is a work analyst and designer who advises structural designers and organisational strategists in methods to provide for the best possible human-centred work conditions or user experience. Sara is a specialist in human-factors and ergonomics. She has recently submitted her PhD research thesis for examination, titled: “Good work design: Strategies to embed human-centred design in organisations”. Sara has her master’s in business administration, is certified professionally as an ergonomist (CPE), and is a registered health care professional (occupational therapist, strength & conditioning coach, and yoga instructor).  She is the Asia Pacific managing consultant for Humanscale, through arrangement as the managing director of her own niche consulting practice, Viva! Health at Work and represents software systems that advance good work design. Sara is a sessional academic at three Australian universities providing teaching support in areas of human-centred design, human factors & ergonomics, business management, and occupational therapy.
